If you are reading this blog, then you have already logged into the website, using your username and password. Once you have signed in, you have access to the blogging area by using the menu item Blog on the menu bar. Blogging is for members only and thus visitors don’t have access to our blogs. This will very likely influence the content that we will share together.
Reading the blogs
Once logged in, an extra option is added on the menu bar: Blog. This link gives you access to all the blogs. You can read all the posts (blogs), comment them, etc.
Writing you own blogs
When you’re logged in you will see on the right-hand sidebar: Contribute. Click on New Post.
- Enter a title to identify your post
- Write the content using the editor which has basic editing functions. There are two tabs: Visual and HTML. Use visual, unless you know HTML (code view).
- If you want to insert a link to a website, first write the text, highlight it and then click on the link symbol…
- For headers you can use the format menu.
- Hover the cursor over formatting icons to get a description of their functions.
- You can also copy your text from a Word document (Word icon) or copy and paste, but the results with some Word Docs are unpredictable. It doesn’t hurt to try. Copying Plain unformatted text works best, though you’ll have to format it.
- Don’t forget to click on Publish or Update button in sidebar on the right when done!
Group moderator
A HTAC board member will be moderating the posts. Your posts will be posted in the blog section when the moderator has indexed it (placed in a category, given it key words) and gone over the page layout. If, for one reason or another, there needs to be a change in content, the moderator will contact the author.
Please write any question you might have as a commentary to this article.
